There was a little bit of Vancouver content in today’s announcement of the Toronto International Film Festival’s main line-up.
In the line-up is director-star Robert Redford’s Vancouver-filmed thriller The Company You Keep, about an aging 1960s radical living anonymously for decades until a young reporter (Shia LaLeouf) uncovers his secret. The movie, filmed here last fall, has enough stars on its own for a whole film festival.
Redford alson enlisted Julie Christie, Brendan Gleeson, Anna Kendrick, Terrence Howard, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper and Susan Sarandon in various supporting roles.
TIFF announces its Canadian film schedule Aug. 8, at which point we can expect to see some more Vancouver-filmed titles.
